Event details of AMCIS PhD & Postdoc Workshop 'Researching Inequalities'
Date
30 April 2025
Time
10:00 -12:00
Room
B3.02

Reeves and Friedman are renowned for their work on social class, elites, and culture—including their recent book Born to Rule.

Drawing on diverse data sources like large-scale surveys, interviews, administrative registers, and experimental designs, Reeves and Friedman will lead a discussion on the research process itself. Together, we’ll explore:

  1.  The challenges and opportunities of doing Mixed Methods Research
  2.  How to study inequality by researching elites

This workshop session is a conversation. We’ll dedicate time to your own work, whether that means presenting a short pitch, getting feedback on your synthesis, or troubleshooting the integration of different data sources.

Registration

Preparation

Please email Luisa Burchartz ultimately by 23 April, with two questions or topics you’d like to discuss.
